Work work work!

All work and no play makes no time for the gym!

I have been so cream crackered after work of late that I just haven’t made it to the gym much. Even when I forced myself to go on Monday I was so dead that I only managed 25 mins before I gave up and went home!

Been back to snacking again too! Thankfully the amount I run around in work means I still haven’t put any weight on but seriously? It’s just not on is it!

I was listening to a guy, who was working at a sales day I was at, talking about how he has lost 1st in just over 2 weeks by eating healthy and going to a personal trainer 4 times a week for 2 hrs at a time. So that means 8 hrs exercise a week and healthy eating = major weight loss!!!!

I think I am going to try the cereal diet…anyone tried it? I figure we have lots of cereal in the office in work; it could be the perfect way to stop me walking over to the shop and buying pain au chocolates or berry muffins!

The diet coke intake had gone down a lot…. But then boots started the offer for a free bottle of Nails Inc. nail polish if you bought 2 bottles of the stuff! So I have drank 4 500ml bottles this week, arrrgh!

Beautifuly cheap nail polish!

I have a pretty size 10 French Connection dress on its way set to arrive next week (not the one below) so I need to suck it in. I bought a 12 from there 2 weeks ago and although its not tight… pretty certain the size 10 will be.

I swear I need to get “Pull your finger out” tattooed onto my hand!

Oh p.s. I did put a half baked work out in this morning though… 25 – 30 mins of yoga and dancing about the living room lol.

"No not me Monday"....

I really am growing tired of all the exercise, still going strong though. I gave Saturday a miss, but I was there first thing yesterday morning and then again tonight after work. I even took the munchkin ice skating yesterday before the Dancing on Ice finals to notch up a few more calories burnt off. She loved it! Was hard work for me though as I had to prop her up and "skate" her around the ice for 45 mins hehe.

I'm not sure if you know what a "No not me Monday" is, but its I read it every week on the blog of a lady I like to read (type in the URL on the "No not me Monday" image and you can read her stuff), so I thought I would give it a go tonight.

No not me Monday

My "No not me Monday" is that I certainly wouldn't try my best to avoid the gym after a day at work... nor would I exercise really hard in the morning on a day I know I want to eat naughty food rather than help myself lose those few extra pounds.

Ouch, ouch, OUCH!

So I am still trying desperately to keep at the gym on a daily basis. My feet where already aching from last night and I was tempted to give today a miss as I was feeling really low on the energy front. I then filled in my foodfocus.com profile (if you don’t have one get one its awesome!) with what I had ate and realised there was not a hope I could give it a miss as I had been a bit too naughty today!

So I plod on, get myself changed into gym wear and trot across the road like a good little wannabe slim girl. 350 calories down and eeeek my big toe on my right foot is killing and the ball of my left foot is friggen sore too arrrrgh, So do I take a day off from the gym tomorrow to let them get a bit better? Or slog on with it as I only have 19 days left to get rid of 7-8lbs?

Up early in the morning to do the food shop with the munchkin and then to the park for an hour before I head to work for the 12- 8 shift. I guess if I have a really good day tomorrow I may just give the gym a miss tomorrow as I won’t be home until nearly 9pm anyway (gym closes at 10pm) or else con the munchkin into walking around the park for an hour rather than sitting while she plays on the slide lol.

Currently on 9 days out of 10 on the gym front, so pretty darn good. My last day off was last Wednesday… Wednesdays could well become my day off! 6 days a week sounds good enough for me!

But back to the sore foot front, any tips for how I can stop my feet getting sore while exercising? I may try different trainers for my next gym trip to see if that makes a difference…..

No sweets for my sweet, no sugar for my honey

I actually woke up this morning after dreaming about a fry up mmmmm. I wanted nothing more than to go down the stairs and make 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of toast and a load of beans. So up I got and headed downstairs with the munchkin and got the eggs out. Then I thought “Noooo, what ARE you doing!? You don’t go to the gym every day to try and ditch flab to just eat it back on with a fry up!”. So I ended up having some soup and bread for my brunch.

However the bigger problem is sugar. Yesterday I was treat free with the exception of 1 hot chocolate which was only 40 calories. Today I am REALLY struggling. I WANT sugar, in fact its invading a lot of my thoughts right now and I really want to make some pancakes, dust them with sugar and just eat them!

So I am wondering, how long does it take the body to realise it doesn’t need all the sugar you have been feeding it and to stop craving it so badly?

Normally when I want sugar and I am trying to avoid it I have a diet coke… however I stupidly decided now would be a good time to try and give up on having so much of it too. I was having a bottle or a can a day at work, 6 months ago that would have been unthinkable to me as I really wasn’t a huge fan of fizzy drinks and never really have been. So again I ask,
how long will it take me to stop craving fizzy drinks and to be happy with water or squash?

Argh so stressed out, I should NOT be this stressed out about sweet food and fizzy drinks. I think I need to go for a quick shower and then head to the gym. P.s. that may seem an illogical way round, but I haven’t showered after yesterdays gym session so I need to wash my hair before I go out

Well that's one way to avoid pizza....

Gym on Thursday night – Check
Gym on Friday morning – Check

Yesterday was going alright until I got home, the Mister had ordered us pizza for tea. Oh so yummy but not great at helping me be good, would have been rude not to eat it though right? I mean hello!I <3 pizza!

Anyways we had a little left over and the munchkin nabbed it. As she was eating the slice I asked if I could have a wee bit. At which she turned around, sneezed on the bit of pizza and responded with “sure mummy, here you go”. Doh! Touché for the munchkin, she stopped me eating it, not that she would have minded me having a bit. Now to get daddy to take a leaf out of her book :)

Thinking about yesterday, I did see the most lovely dress in French Connection… mmm I want! Can I rationalise buying it for a Christening in a few weeks time if I manage to get down to 10st? I think so :)

Pretty Dress
(but in the black and white option not floral and black)

So gym on Saturday? – hmmm yes I will, I MUST! And Sunday too!

Catch up time!

I’m officially rubbish! I’ve ignored this for 2 months, which no doubt is why I haven’t lost much weight! I have been very good this week though you will be glad to hear.

Well… good is a bit subjective. I have been good with the gym! I went on Sunday, yesterday AND tonight. I even attempted running tonight (which for those of you who don’t know me, is something I NEVER do) and I ran for a whole 9 minutes! Totally awesome in my opinion, woohoo. I also started a new job last week and I am walking to and from the train station to it rather than getting the tube. An extra 1.4 miles of walking per day.

However food wise… well I haven’t been so good. I have however stuck to under 2,000 calories which while not perfect isn’t a total disaster.

I’ve really taken a notion to moving abroad in the next couple of years. I mean I have ALWAYS wanted to, but I REALLY want to start planning on somewhere to go. Currently the options are Florida, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. I figure if I cant ditch the flab I should go to Canada where it’s a little colder and I can cover my flab. If I can get rid of the flab then somewhere warmer it is! I just want to be somewhere where the people are more energetic and get out to do stuff.

Tomorrow I am off to see Sister Act in the West End. Hoping its going to be a fab one! It does however mean no gym tomorrow night, so I REALLY need to try and be extra good food wise… which lets be honest I think we all know I am going to do pants. I just love food too much!

I actually gave up chocolate for lent and when I say chocolate I specifically mean chocolate bars. I don’t mind if there is a bit of chocolate on or in something and tbh I’m doing alright. I have had 1 chocolate egg, but you get Sundays off during lent (and St Patricks day) so 1 chocolate egg is pretty good going.

Anyways time for me to hit the sack, I’m tired and I need a shower before I head to sleep. Early start tomorrow as despite the new job being closer to home, I do still have days when I have to go to Soho to work. Or in the Case of tomorrow – Soho, back to city, back to Soho and then home phew!

Night all x

Saturday, 2 January 2010

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to the gym we go...

So today was the day, I started back to the gym care of the membership my parents gave me for Christmas.

The woman on the phone was a bit dim, didn’t really know what an induction was, but I went down and got an instructor to create a plan for how I should work out (still no starter pack though, i.e. free bag, towel, sports bottle, vouchers for friends to come to the gym with me for free etc). All in all I guess I burned a lot of calories, but OH MY GOSH MY ARMS HURT!

It will get easier in time though right? This is it, I have been stuck around 10st 8 – 10st 12 for far too long now, I need to get down to the 10 stone mark! I would like to be there by the end of the month please :)

I bought a lovely little black dress in the sales from Dorothy Perkins. Its very nice and in a size 10. Technically it does fit me and I can get it on… but technically I would also NEVER wear it out the way I look in it right now. I’m so lumpy and bumpy and my big wobbly jelly belly is very prominent. By the end of January I want less lumps and bumps, so I need to keep my motivation up to head to the gym 3 – 4 times a week as well as eating healthy.

Currently a 10 – 12 on top (depending on the boob room) and a 12 on bottom. End of the month I would like to be a solid 10 on top and a 10 – 12 on the bottom. Just need to keep plodding down this road.
